WEIGHT LOSS

MY DAUGHTER 23 YEARS OLD HAS LOST MORE THAN 20KGS IN THE LAST 9 MONTHS. HER IDEAL WEIGHT SHOULD BE 60KGS AND SHE IS 50KGS. WE HAVE HAD BLOOD TESTS DONE FOR ANOREXIA AND BULIMIA AND RESULTS DON'T INDICATE THIS. SHE EATS NORMALLY. WHAT COULD BE THE CAUSE.???

Dear Concerned
I hope the dr also did tests for other conditions that can cause weight loss such as cancer, diabetes, hyperthyroidism, etc. If not, please go back to the dr and ask him about other potential conditions that can cause such massive weight loss without using a slimming diet. Another condition that often causes weight loss if untreated is depression. If your daughter is suffering from underlying depression then she needs treatment and also to consult a clinical psychologist. Clinical psychologists are listed in the Yellow Pages under 'Psychologists' or you can ask your gp to refer you.
