Wastage of leg muscle - polio as a child

My husband who had polio as a child - he was about 15 when there was an outbreak in Natal has recently noticed that the muscle in his one leg is depleting. He would like to know if there is anything he can do to build this muscle up.

Annette, the best would be to first find out why it is happening. It might be due to something unrelated to the polio like a problem with the nerves in his back or even the blood flow to and from the leg. Good luck.
