The frequency of bowel motions is an individual factor. Some persons have up to 3 normal bowel motions a day, while others only have one a week. If you are not passing hard, painful stools then there should not be a problem. If you do suffer pain when passing stools then you need to ask your Weight Watcher's representative to increase your dietary fibre intake or use Fybogel which you can buy at pharmacies. Also click on 'Diet' at the top of this page and then on 'Food as medicine" and read the articles under 'Healthy colon'. You can also take probiotics ("good" microorganisms) such as Bifidoflora which is available at health shops. Do not start taking harsh laxatives because they can destroy your normal bowel function.
