Hi, My husband has for the last few months developed very cold feet, even during summer. He wears down slippers to bed, otherwise he cannot sleep, as his feet is too cold. Can this be something serious? He is on medication for high blood pressure, gout and cholesterol, which are all under control.
He does not get a lot of excercise, because he is in a car most of the day. He is 63 years old. Are there any tests that he should have checked out??

Dear Net
Yes please take him to a doctor to check whether his blood flow through the legs are still sufficient ( they can do this by feeling pulses and doing a doppler (sonar) examination of the legs. As one gets older, the arteries may narrow due to cholesterol in the arteries.
