under weight baby

My wife is currently 35 weeks pregnant and we were told that the baby currently weights about 2.2kg's. Is this normal and do we have anythign to be concerned about? Does this constitute incomplete development of the baby as we are expecting to deliver in about 4-5 weeks from now ?

Hallo Dean
No, some babies are smaller than other and 2,2kg at 35 weeks is acceptable. She should pick up another 150grams of more per week, making her birthweight about 1kg more than it is currently.

Welma
