Ugly nails

Dear Doc
My one foot's toe nails are thick, yellow, growing upwards and have funny wobbles on them. I see that the nails on my hans also have these thick wobbles on them. I think that it might indicate a shortage of some type of vitamin, but I really don't know which.
Please help, I would hate for my hands to look like claws!
