I gave birth to twins 2 months ago. My gynae saw 2 sacs at five weeks.
To look at it logically - you can detect one sac early by internal scan so therefore gynae should be able to see 2, unless one is hidden behind the other - unlikely as they are so small and gynae can manouvre implement.

At twelve weeks your gyna eshould be able to see if there are two sacs or not. I know a lady who showed just one baby at 8 weeks, then got a surprise at 12 weeks with the news it is twins!!
