Tuberculosis

My domestic worker sadly died recently; the cause of death was given as pulmonary tuberculosis. She did have a persistant cough, specially in winter, but seemed otherwise healthy.

Is TB contageous and should I be going for any tests?

Thanks in advance for your help and for a great service.

Regards,
Russell.

Hallo Russel
It is contageous, luckily most of us should have had a BCG vaccine at birth or in primary school. You can ask your doctor to do a Mantoux skin test and CXR(if any of you has a persistant cough)
