TRANSMISSION

Hi Doc,

If a used needle (possibly containing HIV) is used to extract blood from a person who is HIV negative, will the result show + or -? Furthermore, is it possible to contract HIV using a needle that is used to EXTRACT rather than inject blood?

Thanks

Needles should not be reused. If you use a needle that has been used by someone that is HIV positive the probability is very high that you will also be infected with the virus.
