Tonic Water and Miscarriage

Hi All,

I was told by someone that if you drink large amounts of Tonic water - that the ingredients in Tonic may cause a miscarriage. I really enjoy a Gin and Tonic as a drink - but because I am pregnant, I leave the gin out. Please let me know if there is anything to worry about with Tonic Water.

Many thanks
Theresa

Tonic water contains quinine which can stimulate contractions of the uterus, so it would be best to avoid this.
