Time off work following a hysterectomy

Please can you advise me as to the legal time allowed off work following a hysterectomy? I have an employee who has advised me that she will require 6 - 8 weeks leave. Please advise if this is correct, and if so, is this time fully paid sick leave?

Many thanks

The normal time off work is 6-8 weeks and this would be full sick leave.

Best wishes

Yes it is legal and required. It is paid for if she has sick leave due to her. You are allowed 30 days in a 3 year cycle
