Thyroid

Can an overactive or inactive thyroid cause pigmentation? I am on the pill (yasmin), use sunscreen, but still get pigmentation? Will Laser Therapy help? Please advise!

Dear Denise
No thyroid problems don't usually cause pigmentation. Female hormones do however cause this - see http://dermnetnz.org/colour/melasma.html
