Not for losing weight per se. Flaxseed is a source of alpha linoleic acid (ALA) which is one of the omega-3 fatty acids. The latter help to protect your body against a variety of diseases. I would recommend that you change over to Salmon oil instead if you need omega-3 fatty acids, as the DHA and EPA in salmon oil are better sources of omega-3 than the ALA in flaxseed.
