Terugvoering

HI Doc,

My PRO-BNP bloedtoets wys hartversaking. Normal is 150, akuut is 300. My telling is 218.

Dankie soos altyd, Doc.

Hallo Cornel

Anxious, you and I should meet for a cup of Hot chocolate :) I would love to talk to you about M.aids and you always offer such great advice.

Thank you. this forum will be boring without you.

I spoke to Renaissance' broker. Ren. have been placed under Curatorship and I am on the "Whole Life fund" which means my Hospitalization, etc. is unlimited. I am just scared that they are decleared Insolvent and can not pay accounts... turns out Netcare bought into Ren. and Cardio always sends me to Unitas ICU. I think I have time share there... ugh.

So ja, I spoke to GP and she will try and get hold of Cardio again. The fact that I have CHF is scaring me a bit and I really want to get better, so next time if she calls and says I have to go to Hosp. I'll go and get this ticker sorted out.

And you were supposed to be putting this behind you and getting better! Oh dear, oh dear!

If your Rennaisance cover consists of a hospital plan, presumably you are referring to the hospital limit figure, i.e. whether you still have any hospital cover left! It would seem as you are in any event switching medical aids, you need to investigate one which has maybe unlimited hospital cover, as with your current situation you could be in for even more hospital treatment even after changing m/a. The fact that you have already been on medical aid for years protects you from being put into a waiting period for pre-existing conditions when you switch, i.e. if you join a medical aid and haven't been on one before, the medical aid are entitled to apply a waiting period, usually 3 mths, for any pre-existing condition however many you may have and this would include hospitalisation, but you wouldnt be affected by this. Try Bonitas - I believe they are supposed to be one of the top ones - but then you could try Discovery and have their hospital plan only and cover your own day to day costs. However, it sounds as though what you have at the moment is something you cannot leave and if you still have funds, obviously especially hospital funds available on Rennaisance you have every right to deal with your serious problem now before 31/5. Just get that authorisation in asap! Phone them if necessary and tell them your urgent situation and if you still have benefits, they canot refuse to pay for your treatment.

Above is too complicated to write in Afrikaans! Hee Hee!
