Tennis elbow

My 37 yr old husband has been diagnosed with tennis elbow. The dr only prescribed a arthiritis pain killer. How can osteopathic care help heal a tennis elbow? IS there a difference in using an arthiritis painkiller than using only an anti inflamotory supplement?

Painkillers and anti-inflammatories only address the symptoms. Tension in the extensor muscles of the forearm can accumalate to such a degree that eventually the thin tendon extensor carpi radialis brevis will be overloaded and result pain and inflammation. Cotisone injections into the site of pain should be avoided. Osteopathic treatment will address musculoskeletal restrictions in the whole arm and not just the site of pain, therefore removing any restrictions of movement and encouraging faster healing.
