My son is 19 years old ...

His drinking is getting too much ... he has now admitted that he would like to go and see someone but on a one on one basis - he does not feel up to discussing it within a group

Is there any organisation that would be able to assist?

Thanking you

Brother ... this is one thing that will take u months to sort out.

The church or any external party will not help a lot. First u must understand the fact that your son, has studied u for 19 years. He knows exactly when and what to say, to u, to get a certain reaction. So this actually means, he is cleverer than u.

Drugs, friends and liquor are the three that always mix together. As they said: “u must be cruel to be kind” Break the chain. Not your Doctor, priest etc. will do it ….u must do this.

If his is involved with drugs. Cruel to be kind is not the way to go …… send him to a place where the closest town is 50 km away.

Pray with him, and stick with him with everything u have got … he will return

Phone AA, they will send a person ot to talk to him in the comfort of his own home, one on one.

Ask your local church to send someone to talk to him.

Finally, you can also phone Lifeline, they should be able to nudge you in the right direction.

Best of luck
