SWOLLEN ANKLE

I SIT AT WORK MOST OF THE DAY. AT NIGHT JUST FROM STANDING ON MY FEET COOKING AND DOING NORMAL CHORES MY ONE ANKLE GETS EXTREMELY SWOLLEN AND MY WHOLE FOOT THROBS - WHAT COULD BE THE CAUSE OF THIS. I AM 38 YEARS OLD

Melanie, it might be due to a blood clot in a vein and the best would be to see your doctor about it. The fact that it affects only the one foot seems to suggest that it isn’t due to a systemic disorder like blood pressure problems or heart problems. Good luck.
