Sallowing iron from potjie

Can the iron from an iron potjie get into your food and is this bad?

Yes, it can get into your food. But this is actually not a bad thing because it adds essential iron to your diet, and anyway, according to the Canadian Health Department, the amount you might get from iron cookware won't be more than 20 percent of your daily requirement. There are conditions where there is too much iron in the body, but these are much less likely than not getting enough. If you're worried about your iron levels, next time you see your GP ask for a blood test for this.
