Surgical wound leakage

Hello Dr,

My mom had a hysterectomy on the 25 June and it was successful. After the op she couldnt pass stools and then she did a second operation (bowel obstruction surgery). She can now pass stools normal and she takes liquids and a bit of solids. The problem now the surgical wound for the second op has an opening, now and again the opening leaks stools. She doesnt vomit,no nausea,no abdominal pains.

What could be the problem now? Is this fatal?

She is still in hospital, all this is happening whilst she is there.Unfortunately its a public hospital. The doctor said she''ll have to go for an Xray.

If the wound is leaking stools, she will need a laparocopy to examine the bowel for possible perforation. An x-ray can be of use. This condition is not fatal but she might need another operation to correct it.
