Sun damage to cats ears and nose

My white cat seems to be sun sensitive. Can I use a sun block on her ears and nose?
What can I spray on my gate to keep my cat in. She can't jump over, but walks through the bars.

Yes use a high factor. You may need to put mesh on the lower part of the gate to keep her in.

As for the gate simply put smaller mesh on it.
