Stroke like facial expressions due to pollen allergy

My sister has recently developed a stroke like facial expression which she says is not painful at all. Its just that her face does not look right. She is fit and healthy in her mid thirtys. Could this be a new kind of allergic reaction?

Vani, it sounds like she might be suffering from Bell’s palsy. The best would be for her to see her GP and find out what it is, because it doesn’t sound like an allergy. Good luck.

The description does not sound like a allergy reaction at all more like a "Bells Palsy" which is a virus and attacks the cranial nerve in the ear also causing the persons face to pull or skew to one side especially when smiling, has she been under a bit of stress latetly because that seems to bring on the bells palsy too? you can be unaware of it and still feel ok but will find that your facial muscles are not working right, take her to see a GP/neurologist to test as if it is Bells she might need cortisone to treat it. Good luck and hope it clears up but just what if she did have a mild stroke, not to scare you but rather to say do not take chances especially since she is a middle aged women, strokes can happen so rather see to it.

Hi there Vani

Does you sister have a history of suffering from allergies? If she does, then my suggestion would be to have her tested. Maybe she was bitten, and is reacting to that, but get her to a doctor, don't play with something like this. Allergies are inherent in our family, and it can be fatal. So don't wait - go to the doctor.
