Hi jpm, so long as one isn;t taking them in magadoses ( even vitamons and other nutrients can be harmful if the dose is too high ) they can't do harm. There's no evidence that stress makes us need more vitamins etc than usual, or makes us use them up faster than usual, but if one has been stressed for some time and has been eating a lousy diet, they could indeed help. It's just a pity that ALL the drug companies charge so unnecessarily much for all vitamin products, making such awfully high profits from them !
