Why not ask Dietdoc ? But you don't sound over-weight

You people make me feel stupid...

Alaska, I'm about your height and I weigh 49kg and I hate it!! I struggle to gain even 2 kg. I gained 2kg after eating a lot on purpose for about 2 weeks and in one day I didn't eat that much I lost it all again, so be grateful that you have the perfect height and the perfect weight :-)

Go well.

i alaska

sorry i thought something like that may also be the case.

yes, issues with weight do have psychological reasons otherwise it would not be something we feel like posting on cybershrink, but just do the healthy thing and gym&eat properly.

i understand that you might feel like 'what if she doesnt like me' but i can assure you that she is NOT wondering about your size. and you dont have to feel insecure about yourself.

im very sorry to hear that you lost your parents at an early stage in your life.

im sure she is just as excited as you to meet up!.how old are you? just be yourself, look after yourself and be healthy. healthy body = healthy mind = healthy life.

all of the best with meeting her, and do let us know how it went!

Rose... no, its not the case. My parents died at a very early stage in my life, and the lady im going to meet was supposed to act as my 'godmother', but things turned out that i was braught up by my older sister, so i got in contact with this new mum, and now im going to meet her!

I am happy with myself. But do you think it might be insecurity?

You and all of those who answered are so kind. Thank you!

i think vis did it wasnt me.

but you calculate it:

your weight / (heightxheight)

ie: 53 / (1.63x1.63)= 19.9

a healthy person should be between 20 and 25...
dont go lower, it's dangerous!!

you are perfect!

we all want to chnge something about our bodies.
but when you get to a point when you are content with yourself and secure and know you are a wonderful person, your weight should not be something to worry about when you meet your new mom or anyone for that matter.

1. you are thin
2. if you look well groomed and look like you respect yourself and are honest and sincere, these things(your size) dont matter.

im sure your new mom, anticipating meeting you, are not sitting there wondering how much you weigh. she's wondering about what kind of person you are and if you will make her son happy (im assuming this is the situation?)

get rid of the thoughts that you are huge. live your life to the fullest and be happy with yourself.

happiness does not = PERFECTLY THIN.

and good luck with meeting your new mom!

53kg is not huge - you are quite tall, so you should look good being the weight that you are! If you have to lose 4kgs you will weigh a sickly 49 kg and you will really not look good then - why on earth would you want to lose 4kg in a week? Nee sussie - stick to your weight - you sound fine the way you are and at 21years old, too young to be worrying about losing so much weight. If you starve yourself, you do more harm than good - you might lose a kg or so, but your sugar levels will drop and you will feel lightheaded and ill and you will probably get headaches too (i am no doctor just speaking from experience - did not starve myself, just skipped too many meals whilst going thru a tough time). You are fine the way you are - taking your height and your weight into consideration.

no there is no healthy way to loose 4kgs in a week, especially not when you are not overweight.

it bothers me that you weigh 'a huge...' as you're not huge.

go onto the dietdoc forum, she should be able to help you, but the only healthy way is to eat healthy and exercise. kgs are not important compared to cm's (gym/xercise) and calories are not that important compared to eating properly and healthily.

if you starve yourself you will not loose weight, maybe a kilo, your metabolism will drop and youll gain when you eat properly again.
