Our expert says:
It depends. The end of February means that you have 10 weeks starting now, and that's probably reasonable. Many people expect results in 3 or 4 weeks, which is not. Having said this, 7 kg is quite a bit to lose and then keep off. Remember that with exercise, what you are doing is trying to cause fat to be burned, so that your fat mass goes down, but at the same time, you muscle mass must go up. This is good because muscle burns fat and so in the long term, having more muscle is better to help keep the weight off. The problem is that if you are going to do this exercise, then, you will have to expect that you might even find that your mass on the scale does not go down as much as you think, because you are increasing your muscle mass. So, my advice is that you rather focus on getting fitter, losing centimeters and the mass will come anyway. The other thing is that you might find that you lose 4 kg by February - is this a bad thing? Of course not! As long as you are getting fit and seeing some progress, it's the way to go.
