Spotting

Hi

Is spotting normal? Can spotting be the cause of something serious like cysts or polyps in the uterus or can spotting be ignored? Just wanted to know if hysteroscopy is really necessary if spotting is of no concern.

Thanks!

Spotting can be 'normal' in that it may be due to hormone irregularities. However, it can be due to polyps or other more serious conditions. If you have been assessed by a doctor and a hysteroscopy was thought to be necessary, then you should have this.

Best wishes
