Sperm Analysis - please help

Hi doc,

My hubby recently had a sperm analysis test, could you have a look at these numbers and let me know what you think? He has an appointment with a Urologist next week, so it can't be all good.


Abstinence- 3days
Volume- 3 ml
Liquification- 20 mins
Viscosity- 0mm
pH- 7.8
Sperm count- 26.4
Total sperm count- 79.2
Supravital index -60%
Count normal sperm -0.63

Sperm Motility
Motility 30 mins- 55%
Motility 24 hours- NA
Progression 30 mins- 2
Progression 24 hours- NA

Sperm Morphology
Normal- 4
Amorphic -70
Tapered -22

It says the morphology of sperm is borderline P-Pattern classification. Fertilization percentage expected is +/- 22%. Slightly increased CMA3 values, borderline count normal sperm.

The most important parameter is the sperm morphology normal of 4%. A repeat sperm analysis should be done and if the parameters remain low (less than 8%) then this would be an indication for ART (IVF/ICSI).
