Sore Knees

Ek is 26 jaar oud en weeg 50 kg. Ek oefen 4 keer 'n week in die gym waar ek
hoofsaaklik "weight training" doen (bene oefen ek 1 keer 'n week) en dan draf ek
so 2-3 keer 'n week vir so 20 min en doen steps ook. Ek glo my tegniek in die gym is
korrek as ek gewigte oefen.
Vandat ek begin meer draf het die laaste ruk, raak my kniee seer.
Wat kan dit wees?

Iemand het my aanbeveel om na 'n "Piodiatrist" te gaan en sê dat my een been langer is
as die ander een en dat ek binnesole moet kry om te dra.
Ek is egter bang dat ek onnodig so duur moet betaal om vir 'n konsultasie te gaan.

My tekkies is al 3 jaar oud, maar iemand by 'n winkel wat tekkies verkoop, sê ek kan
daarmee draf aangesien ek nie swaar op skoene is nie.
Hy beveel ook 'n neutrale skoen aan.

Ek het al gehoor van mense watse rugwerwels geskuif het en 'n dokter hulle strekoefeninge
laat doen het om dit weer "reg te trek" en sodoende is die probleem dat hul een been
langer as die ander is, opgelos.
Waarheen moet ek gaan vir hulp?

Hi Kallie

Your best bet is to actually seek a medical opinion as to what is causing the problem, otherwise you could end up paying out large amounts of money - you don't know that your one leg is shorter than the other.
Secondly - 3 year old shoes probably need replacing, even if you are light on them! Most shoes don't last longer than 1 year.

So this is my advice - go to a doctor, preferably a sports medicine doctor.
