Smoking and IVF

I smoke about 6 cigarettes per day. I did not stop during my treatment. Could this have had a negative effect on the result?

Dear Mimi

It is unlikely that a small quantity such as six cigarettes a day would have any long term bearing on your fertility.

I had IVF twice now. Each time I only stopped smoking when I'd received the positive result. But needless to say that there were many negative outcomes as well. Anyway so it may or may not and I smoked way more that 6 per day.

I stopped again now as I have just received a positive result.

Good luck.
