Skin on baby's penis

Hi,

I noticed that the skin on a friend's baby boy's penis is not moving back all the way. He is 9 months old and was never circumsized. Will it be better to have the surgery done a.s.a.p or is there something else that they can do?

Thank you for visiting health24.com.

The foreskin will stretch over time but having a circumsition is an option and the parents' choice entirely.

Kind regards

An uncircumsized penis only fully retract by 3years old. It should not be retracted at all at this stage. You basically leave it alone and as they get older and 'discover' it, they retract the foreskin themselves over time.
