My psychiatrist has prescribed me Seroquel, I haven' t started it yet, I' m really worried I am going to put on weight with this and that will make me more depressed and stresed. Do the majority of people on this drug put on weight? Are there any other mood stabilisers available that won' t make you put on weight?

No, the majority of people on this drug do NOT put on weight, some do, on almosty any antidepressant and other psych drugs, but careful attention to diet and exercise should help keep it under control. Call and discuss this with your prescribing psychiatrist to check if he would consider any other less likely to cause this problem while still helping you in the way he intended
