Dear Sam

The sperm does not die immediately once it is airborne or outside the body. However sperms are very sensitive to temperature changes. If the sperm is kept at body temperature it can survive for quite a significant number of hours however if left alone and left outside the body without temperature control then many sperms will die off within 1 hour of ejaculation.
