Please help. My grandson is 2 years old and has a running tummy for some time now. He was taken to the doctor several times over a period of time. The medicine given helped for a while but then it started all over again. What type of food can we give him ? Is yoghurt advisable in this condition ?

Ella, the best would be to try and find out what the cause of the diarrhoea is. You can have some of his stools send away for biochemistry and MC&S. this will tell you if the diarrhoea is due to an infection, an enzyme problem or malabsorption. In the meantime you can grate an apple, let it go brown in the fridge and then feed it to him. It’s an effective way of binding the stools and can do no harm. Good luck.
