Dear Sunshine
You can drink water at any temperature you like. Here is my reply to another Reader which you should keep in mind: Drinking water in quantities of about 4-6 glasses a day is an excellent habit, but a) this does not actually cause you to lose any body fat, and b) if you overdo your water intake you may develop electrolyte imbalances as excessive water intake washes important minerals like potassium, sodium, magnesium and calcium out of the body. To lose weight you need to basically change your lifestyle. Reduce your energy intake by eating an energy-reduced, low-fat, high-fibre diet (click on 'Diet' at the top of this page, 'Weight loss', ‘Balanced diet' and then on 'Slimming Diet' for a copy of such a diet), and increasing your energy output by doing regular exercise (running, jogging, skipping, cycling, swimming, join a gym or Walk for Life).

I once heard that the colder the water, the more energy your body uses to make adjust it to body temperature.
