Rectal bleeding

Recently i have become aware that i do not regularly bleed from the anus, but can at least count two seperate times that this has occured. i know it could be a number of things.
after a heavy night of partying and drinking i found myself bleeding from the anus the next morning. it just happened once and i got seriously worried. i looked up on the net. i can remember this happening one other time a while ago. could it be something smaller thats causing it? could it have anything to do with the mix of alcohol that i consumed the night before this happened?
i really hope its nothing to worry about as it is not reoccuring and and not an on going problem.
i wouldnt know where to start with examining the possible causes.

Is it bright blood or darker blood? If its bright blood is from fairly low down near the anus, due to a fissure or haemorroid. Don't leave it but see your Dr. it could also be an early sign of cancer.
