Reading Material: Perfect Peace

Better late than never, here you go, today's...

Another month ends; shortly, another year will have gone by.
Immediately ahead of us on the calendar is Christmas, with all of its attendant emotions.

Once at a retreat center, I was given some beautiful words in the form of a Buddhist blessing which goes like this:

"May you be at peace...
May you know the beauty of your own true nature...
May your heart remain open...
May you be healed."

It seems to me that this blessing can comfort, sustain and guide us in the coming month.

May your heart remain open...
With open hearts, we love ourselves, then others.
With open hearts, we live without judgment.
We may be more vulnerable, but an open heart, like an open hand, is able to receive the blessings that are in store for us.

-The Rev. Margaret Jones-

(Re: Previous post) No, I haven't heard of Ice in an SLK but would definitely like to see myself in one someday ! <smile>

I just saw this one and had to add it. Beautiful and touching:

"Without love and kindness, life is cold, selfish, and uninteresting,
and leads to distaste for everything. With kindness, the difficult
becomes easy, the obscure clear; life assumes a charm, and
its miseries are softened. If we knew the power of kindness,
we should transform the world into a paradise. "
