As long as it does not cause any vomiting in your dogs, it is fine. Unfortunately, just as with any other object a dog chews on, large pieces can get lodged in the oesophagus although this is not such a big problem as with bones and hooves. The chewing action does help cleaning the teeth and keeping the dogs occupied, so generally yes, it is a good thing for dogs, in moderation.
