Our expert says:
The bitch should be checked for urinary tract infection or infection or discharges from the vagina. This type of infection or discharge may also attract male dogs. It can also happen that a small amount of ovarian tissue is situated in an abnormal place and its left behind during the spay procedure, because it is not where it should have been. In that case, the vagina will also swell and enlarge, just as in any other bitch that has gone into season. In some dogs, though, this excessive chasing of bitches can be purely a behavioural problem. A veterinary examination may help solve the riddle.
