We are all different but surely both parties must be comfortable with what each other does.
You don''t really mention how violent and what did he actually do.Rough sex can be very good but certainly not as far as actually hurting someone.
If you are not comfortable then talk to him about it and even tell him how far you are prepared to go.If he pushes the boundaries too far then maybe you might have to dump him
