Purbac

Sorry posted this to cyberdoc but actually meant for Pharmacist - I have had purbac in the past to treat a bladder infection. My son suffers from acne and the doc has recently given him purbac. I cannot find any reference on the internet where purbac is given for acne. Is this suitable? Is it longterm? Are there any serious side effects?
