PROLACTIN

Recently went to the doc for various check ups and because it seems that i am lactating and not pregnant had blood tests done and marked on the test sheet was Prolactin, exactly what would the test be done for and what could be the problem?

Had the same problem couple of years ago - even had the blood tests - everything normal - dr said possibly caused by stress.
