Progesterone

How can one increase levels of progesterone in ones body? Is their medication for it and can you get it over the counter or must you go through your doctor for this? I was also told that low levels of progesterone causes miscarriages how true is this? Or is this just one of those myths? Thank you

Proegesterone is produced by the ovary after ovulation, so low proegsterone usually means that you did not ovulate. Low progesterone in pregnancy is not very common but it usually means that the pregnancy is not robust enough to continue, i.e. that you are likely to miscarry.
