Many probiotics have been shown to have antifungal activity against Candida in laboratory studies and in animal studies, but poorly documented in human studies. There are many anecdotal reports which decsribe the effectiveness of certain probiotics against oral candida and oesophageal candida. It makes sense that certain strains will also be active against Candida in the gut.
The immune effects of certain probiotics may also be beneficial in this situation with respect to CFS.
I think that if you do experience positive effects from probiotic supplementation, it will be over a few months, rather than in the short term.
