pressure on ears when flying

Hi

When I fly by plane and landing on the coastal towns I experience such a terrible pressure in my ears that hurts well after the I've landed, how can counter act this?

Lulamile, it might be that you have a chronic ear and/or sinus infection. The best would be to see a doctor and make sure that this isn’t the case. I’m sure you know about equalising and chewing gum, but it won’t be effective enough if you suffer from the above. Good luck.
