Three weeks after you ovulate would generally be a week after your expected period. The best time to check a pregnancy test is about a week after missing a period. Tests which are initially negative and then become positive mean that the test was done too early, before the pregnancy hormones could be detected.

Best wishes

It is always wise to do a pregnancy test 3 or 4 days after your late period. A negetive test can be wrong , but a possitive test can never be wrong.
