Piles or not

Hi there, I would like to kno if what I have is piles or jus a boil. I have a boil in between my vagina and the anus. Its very painfull when I visit the loo and sometimes even when I sit. I understand piles are those that occur in the anus, if these are not piles then what are they. Is there any governement /free clinic around the northgate area where I can get treated? Thanks

Hallo Elizabeth
A pile is a swollen vein around the anal opening. You may have a boil if it is very painful and located between the vagina and the anus. There should be a municipal clinic in the Northgate area - look in the telephone book under municipal health services. Otherwise you can go to a provincial hospital see http://www.joburg.org.za/content/view/43/9/
