Pain in right thumb

I've had this pain in my right thumb (inside the knuckle area) for about a month now and it's not getting any better. My thumb becomes stiff and makes it difficult to write or hold a pen. It's also dificult to bend my thumb.

What could possibly be the cause?

Hi Shaz
You may have a nodule in the tendon of the thumb ( this is called Dupuytren's contracture) - let your doctor have a look as you may need to see an orthopedic surgeon for this. The nodule prevents the movement of the tendon in the sheath.
