Paciific cruise

Good day. I actually have two questions. We will be going America next and will be taking a pacific coast cruise whiich inlcudes Mexico. Do we need to take vaccinations or coming from South Africa do we need any medical certificates? And what medication can be used for prevention and cure for motion sickness for aduls and preteens. Thank you.

There are no vaccine requirements except if you are going down to Panama canal then YF would be requirement .Been on board a ship one is prone to outbreak exposures of the gastro Nora virus and influenza.

Having a flu shot before going makes good sense and this year both hemispheres are using the same 3 combinations in the flu vaccine!

Taking medication for control of diarrhoea and vomiting and replacement meds icould be useful as well as antibiotic for respiratory infection.

For motion sickness Cinnazarine works well. 25 mgs the night before departure then 2 hours before and 8 hourly as required.
8-12 YRS can have a 1/2 tab.
Otherwisae Valoid susp 12.5/5ml Children 2 -5yrs 5ml 6-12yrs 10ml!

Happy sailing!
