Dear Anon

There are numerous causes of an ovulation and this forum is not sufficient for me to give you all the possibilities. However, in general, the problem could either be the central nervous system problem involving the hypothalamus or pirtuatory gland. It may also be as a result of other hormonal imbalances, e.g thyroid, prolactin, cortisol and other endocrine disorders. It may also relate to problems within the ovaries such as polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) as well as premature ovarian failure or premature menopause. These are just some of the possibilities amongst numerous others.
