Our expert says:
Thank you for your e-mail Milano, you could be suffering from hyperhidrosis/ bromhidrosis (excessive sweating/ with smell) and buying new shoes will not solve the problem as the cause is coming from your feet. I would suggest that you see a podiatrist who could advise you on treatment for your feet, prescribe foot sprays and also the treatment of your shoes. In the meantime make sure that you alternate your shoes daily, dry your feet properly especially between the toes and "air" your shoes. If you non-diabetic and have good circulation in your feet with no cracks in the skin - you can soak your feet in lukewarm water with Epsom salts (1-2 tablespoons) daily. For your nearest podiatrist contact PASA (Podiatry Association of South Africa) www.podiatrist.co.za 0861 100 249
