Obesity &  Pregnancy

I am obese. II weigh 173kg and I am 1.68m tall. I am 24 years old.

I recently found out I am 6 weeks pregnant. I can honestly tell you that I did not think it was possible to fall pregnant at this weight.

The point is: I can not see how it can be possible for my body to carry a baby full term (at this weight anyway). What do I do? Can I diet &  exercise whilst pregnant? Any other suggestions?

There is no reason why your body should not carry the pregnancy. 5kg extra would not make much difference. You can follow a healthy diet- best advised by a dietician - and you can follow a moderate exercise program.

Best wishes

I know quite a few ppl who were obese and fell pregnant and had a healthy baby. Just try eating healthy and don' t overwork yourself.

Good Luck!
